We're gonna solve for y this time because in the first equation it is y and in the second it is 2y so it'll be easier
1^(st) equation
2x-y=5
Transfer 2x
-y=5-2x
Transfer the minus(-)
y=-(5-2x)
y=-5+2x
If you didn't understand what I did there... simply think I multiplied both sides by -1
2^(nd)equation
3x+2y=4
Put value of y
3x+2xx(-5+2x)=4
Expand
3x-10+4x=4
Solve and transfer 10
7x=4+10
7x=14
Transfer 7
x=14/7

y=-5+2x
y=-5+2xx2
y=-5+4
color(red)(y=-1
