# How do you write 0.0062*10^2 in scientific notation?

Mar 25, 2015

This is a strange, mixed-up way to write a number.

$0.0062 \cdot {10}^{2} = 0.62 = 6.2 \cdot {10}^{-} 1$

Or:
$0.0062 \cdot {10}^{2} = 6.2 \cdot {10}^{-} 3 \cdot {10}^{2} = 6.2 \cdot {10}^{- 3 + 2} = 6.2 \cdot {10}^{-} 1$

Both give the same answer of course.
