How do you write an equation in standard form for a vertical line passing through (-5, -2)?

A linear equation in "standard form" looks like
#Ax+By=C#

A vertical line is of the form
#x=C#
If #(-5,-2)# is on the vertical line, then
#x=-5#
or in (expanded) standard form:
#(1)x +(0)y = -5#

#x=-5# or #x+5=0#
You want a vertical line; so it has always the same #x# (otherwise it would be inclined) and #y# can change freely.
The equation #x=-5# has a fixed value of #x# (i.e. #-5#) and can have any value of #y#.
