How does changing the units of measurement affect correlation?

There shouldn't be any change in the qualitative and quantitative expression of correlation, as long as the change in the units introduces only proportional changes in the expression (not in the real value of the measurements) and as long as the expression of a correlation (coefficient) is always a dimensionless ratio.
