A place for everything, and everything in its place...?

Explanation:

A planned sequence and order of operations.

A clear idea of the hazards involved in the experiment, and anticipation of snafus....

An action plan in case something goes horribly wrong......i.e. an appropriate planned/rehearsed response to an accident.

You cannot make a lab idiot-proof. We ALL make mistakes thru ignorance, or carelessness, or tiredness. A safety precaution that is observed in every laboratory, and in every experiment, is the wearing of safety spectacles. You MUST WEAR SAFETY SPECTACLES, as there is no effective first aid for an injured eyeball.
