Organiations such as the IMF, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization try to help the global economy by promoting free trade. Criticism come from anti-globalization activists as they claim that these organizations only help major corporations and do not help local population. Libertarians also denouce these organizations for similar reasons but with different analyses, they assert that these organizations set up rules that are contradictory to the rules of competition and thus prevent the law of demand and supply to be effective by thwarting competition from smaller companies.
