DNA is transcribed in the nucleus into mRNA that then swims out of the nuclear pores(DNA is too big to swim out of the nuclear pores) and turns the code over to tRNA which carries sets of 3 bases on it that are opposite of what was on the RNA. These sets of 3 are called anti-codons. The tRNA then goes to the ribosome in the cytoplasm and the ribosome performs translation by reading the anti-codons and producing an amino acid chain.
