Through exocytosis
Explanation:
Once the Action Potential reaches the end of the axon, it triggers a voltage gated calcium ion channel. The calcium enters in to the axon and causes a biochemical cascade which eventually causes the vesicles containing the neurotransmitter to be released via exocytosis.
