Astronomers suggest that the solar system is about 0.5 light year long or possibly even a full light year.

Explanation:

The debate is not settled due to the Oort Cloud ( it is an entire cloud made up asteroids closing the solar system) and astronomers say that the Oort Cloud could be 1 light year in length. As it is part of the solar system, some astronomers already consider the solar system to be 1 light year in length
