How many muscles are found in the human body?

There are three types of muscle tissue found in humans namely, skeletal, smooth and cardiac.

Explanation:

Skeletal muscles ( voluntary striated muscle) : there are approximately 640 skeletal muscles found within the typical human.

Smooth muscle ( involuntary non striated muscle) : they are found within walls of blood vessels, in lymphatic vessels, urinary bladder, male and female reproductive tracts, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, in the skin, ciliary muscle and iris of the eye.

Cardiac muscle ( involuntary striated muscle) : the muscle tissue of the heart is called myocardium and it forms the thick middle layer of the heart in between the outer epicardium and inner endocardium.
