How many nucleotides is mRNA usually made of? I know nucleotides are arranged into codons consisting of three base pairs but how many of those are in mRNA in most situations.

mRNA is copied from DNA, and genes coding for different proteins can be only 500 letters long to several thousand. The most common amount is probably between the two. Because gene length can vary so greatly, protein length is just as varied.
