There are infinitely many.

  • all the integers (positive and negative whole numbers, and 0,
  • the fractions between the integers - the proper fractions, the improper fractions, the terminating decimals and the recurring decimals.

There are infinitely many fractions between any integers.
It is always possible to find a fraction halfway between two given fractions, so we will never run out of fractions.
