How to know if a given element is paramagnetic?

I don't ask for compounds. I just need to know about the elements/ions. For example, Ti2+, Co?

By finding out the electron pairing u can understand that the product is Paramegnetic or diamagnetic.

Explanation:

U have to find out the Oxidation nuber of the central atom of the compound. Then u have to synchonise the remaining electron as per hund's rule and pauli's rule.

If you have any unpaired electrons then it will be paramagnetic.

Here in this picture oxygen is paramagnetic because there are two unpaired electrons.
