Remove the denominator from the fraction, isolate x and solve the inequality ( remember that dividing or multiplying by a -1 will reverse the inequality sign)

Explanation:

# ( -2x -15) xx (3+x) /(3+x) > 12 xx ( 3+x)#

# (3+ x)/(3+x) = 1# so this removes the denominator leaving

# -2x -15 > 12 xx ( 3 + x) multiplying across the parenthesis gives

# -2x - 15 > 36 + 12 x add 2x to both sides gives

# -2x + 2x - 15 > 36 + 12x + 2x # giving

# -15 > 36 + 14x # subtract 36 from both sides

# -15 - 36 > 36-36 +14x # giving

# - 51 > 14 x # divide both sides by 14 gives

# -51/14 > 14 x/14 # so

# x < - 51/14# this fraction can not be reduced.
