Aggregation/conglomeration of mass by gravitational attraction.
Explanation:
Similar to the stars themselves, and from the same raw materials (residues from supernovae, interstellar matter), the planets formed by the gradual grouping of those materials. Further meteor/asteroid impacts may have added minor amounts of mass.
