Take a volume of distilled water....and measure its #pH#...distilled water has #pH=7#...and of course #pH=-log_10[H_3O^+]#....add a few drops of the acid (and this order of addition is SAFE given that add acid to water)….and then measure the #pH#...the #pH# should have dropped substantially....
