How would you explain how mutations in the DNA sequence of a gene may or may not affect the gene expression of the sequence of amino acids in an encoded protein?

1 Answer

Change in the triplet code affect the gene expression

The triplet code determines the sequence of amino acids in the polypeptide chain. Complete change in the triplet code for a particular amino acid will change the expression of the genes. Because one amino acid is coded by more than one code, but never one code is assigned for more than one amino acid.
Codes are non-ambiguous and degenerate. Thank you. Effect of mutation is depend on the modification of codes.
