Human population is currently growing exponentially. Assuming there is a carrying capacity for humans, how would you suggest that the population slow its growth and stabilize it at a sustainable number?

Actually the numbers over the past couple of decades are not growing exponentially anymore.
Explanation:
Human's need to become more responsible and not have 19 kids (and counting). The other thing that humans can do is reduce their consumption of resources.
