(a+2b,2a-b)=(4,-2), and, (2c+d,c-2d)=(4,-3).

(a+2b,2a-b)=(4,-2)

rArr a+2b=4...(1), and, 2a-b=-2...(2).

Subst.ing the value of a from (1)" into "(2),

2(4-2b)-b=-2 :. -5b=-10 :. b=2.

:. a=4-2b=4-2(2)=0.
