Evolution is not a simple change. It is survival of the species in time.
Explanation:
Each species is with its distinct genome. Since the species is separated from neighboring species, its genome is designed for its survival.
Evolution is the change of a species in changed environment.
When a species is extinct its genome is lost forever.
In ancient time extinction was a natural process.
But in modern world due the human interference and change in habitat the rate of extinction is increased.
In any ecosystem there is a balance in interrelated species. Therefore humans care more for extinction of plants as well as animals.
