If the Immune System remembers a way of killing any type of microbe then why we every year suffer from Common Cold (Rhinovirus)? PLease explain it clearly?

the immune system does not remember the way to kill the pathogen but rather the shape of the pathogen itself so it uses the ready available defense it has as soon as this pathogen attacks the body. The problem with the flue virus is that it changes its outer shape so the immune system does not recognize it.
