This being that since an isosceles has 2 similar sides/angles. And all triangles add up to 180°. If you subtract your vertex angle (50°) from 180°. You get 130°. This is now the degrees for both of your base angles. Divide this number by 2 (because you have 2 base angles) and you get 65°.
