If we used 0.050 molal solution of Na2SO4 what would be the boiling point? (HINT: first decide if ionic or covalent to figure out “i”).

It depends on what the solution contains as the solvent. However, I could tell you the boiling point elevation.

#DeltaT_b = iK_fm#

For #Na_2SO_4#, #i=3# because it will dissociate into three ions per molecule. Hence, it will have this effect on the solute's constant:

#DeltaT_b = 3 * 0.05m * K_f#

#thereforeDeltaT_b = 0.15K_f#
