If white blood cells show infection, what do red blood cells do? Are there any other type of blood cells?

The only work of red blood cells is to transport oxygen bound to haemoglobin present in it. Thrombocytes (commonly called platelets) are also considered as a type of blood cell. These help in blood clotting.
