In a hospital, there are 2 nurses for every 5 patients. How many nurses would probably be on duty if there were 155 patients in the hospital?

$\frac{155}{2} = 31$ Then take $2 \cdot 31$ to get the number of nurses which is $61$
$\frac{2}{5} \cdot \frac{x}{155}$ Then cross multiply. You should get $5 x = 310$. Then to get $x$ by itself, divide both sides by $5$ to get $x = 62$ and that's the number of nurses on duty if there were $155$ patients in the hospital.
