Blood in the aorta is oxygen-rich.

Explanation:

The aorta is the largest artery in the human body and it carries oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to be transported to the rest of the body.

Oxygen-depleted blood that returns to the heart via the veins is received into the right atrium (right auricle) from where it flows into the right ventricle and is pumped from the heart to the lungs via the pulmonary arteries.

In the lungs, the blood releases it carbon dioxide and is oxygenated and conducted back to the heart through the pulmonary veins to the left atrium (left auricle).

This oxygen-rich blood then flows into the left ventricle from where it is pumped into the aorta to be transported to all parts of the body.

In the diagram below, the blue arrows signify oxygen-depleted blood and the red arrows oxygen-rich blood.
