Look at the name of the molecule, it is butane after all, and not butene or butyne.

Another clue is looking at its chemical structure. Butane has a chemical formula of #C_4H_8#, and looks like this:

Since it has only single #C-C# bonds, it is considered to be saturated, and therefore is an alkane.
