It is not a polynomial in $x$ $x$ in that it is not of the form:

$a_nx^n+a_(n-1)x^(n-1)+...+a_0$

for some non-negative integer $n$ and constants $a_0,...,a_n$

It could be said to be a polynomial in $1/x$ .

Is f(x) = 2 - 2/x^6f(x)=2−2x6f(x) = 2 - 2/x^6 a polynomial?
