# Is f(x) = 2 - 2/x^6 a polynomial?

It is not a polynomial in $x$ in that it is not of the form:
${a}_{n} {x}^{n} + {a}_{n - 1} {x}^{n - 1} + \ldots + {a}_{0}$
for some non-negative integer $n$ and constants ${a}_{0} , \ldots , {a}_{n}$
It could be said to be a polynomial in $\frac{1}{x}$.
