Is piano part of orchestra?

In the modern orchestra, the piano is either grouped as part of the keyboard section or stands alone.

As well as having their own part as any other instrument, there are many piano concertos written for orchestra which focus specifically on the piano and are full of piano solos and cadenzas, such as Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor.
