Pollen is same as microspore.

Explanation:

Sporophytic generation is dominant in all seed-bearing plants, Sporophytic generation reproduces asexually by meisospores. All spermatophytes are heterosporous, producing 2 types of meiospores, i.e mcrospores and megaspores.

Microspore and megaspore are the first step of male and female gametohytic generation. Gametophytic generation is highly reduced.

Mature microspore in Gymnosperms and Angiosperms is surrounded by inner thin wall intine and outer thick wall exine. It is popularaly called pollen grain . It is uninucleate, contaiing haploid nucleus.

Micropore starts developing into male gametohyte. The development of male gametophyte is endosporic, i.e. it develops within the microspore.
The pollen grain at the time of pollination is not uninucleate but encloses partially developed male gametophyte. Further development of male gametophyte occurs after the pollen grain falls on the stigma and germinates to form pollen tube that encloses male gamete.
