The Aorta is the main highway that receives blood from the heart. It splits into Arteries, these split into smaller arterioles, then even smaller capillaries .

After the Erythrocytes (red blood cells) have done their work (exchanging #O_2# for #CO_2#), the process reverses: From the capillaries into the venules, then into the larger the veins and ultimately back to the heart. (via the Superior Vena Cava and the Anterior Vena Cava ).
