Multiply the numerator and the denominator by #(x+y)#

#(x+y)/(x-y)=((x+y)(x+y))/((x-y)(x+y))#

#=(x+y)^2/(x^2-y^2)#

Also,

#(x+y)/(x-y)=x/(x-y)+y/(x-y)#

#=(x(x+y))/(x^2-y^2)+(y(x+y))/(x^2-y^2)#
