Yes, but only if it is managed sustainably.


Water should be a renewable resource if it is not overused. Consumption must not exceed available supply. Additionally, water quality can be reduced if pollutants are allowed in to this resource. Most potable water is surface water and its not evenly distributed around the world - some have lots (like Canada), while other regions are water deficient (like many African countries). Groundwater is another valuable water resource that is renewable, in theory, however it can take thousands of years to recharge a groundwater aquifer, so its important not to over pump groundwater.
