#y=x+2# is not a direct variation.

Explanation:

Note that one possible solution for #y=x+2# is #(x,y)=(1,3)#

If #y=x+2# were a direct variation then (for example) doubling the value of #x: 1rarr2# would double the value of #y:3rarr6#
but if #x=2#
then #y=x+2=2+2=4 !=6#

Looking at it another way
if an equation (in #x# and #y#) is a direct variation
then it can be arranged into the form
#color(white)("XXX")y=c*x# for some constant #c#
This can not be done with the equation #y=x+2#
