Explanation:

The Treaty was a sore point for the Koreans. They felt it was coerced. Japanese treatment was harsh and the Occupation lasted until 1945.

This is Gyeongbokgung Palace that destroyed by the Japanese in 1592 and rebuilt and then destroyed again by the Japanese after 1910 for an Industrial Exhibition. The Palace has been recently rebuilt and is worth the visit.
