Math word problem?

  1. Using C for the cost of the printing and t for the number of tickets, Susie writes a formula for
    each of the printers. Here is her formula for Sure Print:

Sure Print C = 2t

Write the formula for Best Print:
Best Print C =

  1. Susie’s brother Rob has drawn Sure Print’s graph on a grid.
    Draw the graph for Best Print.

  2. Susie uses algebra to find the values of C and t when the cost of printing the tickets is the same
    for both of the printers.

C = __ t = ____

Show how Susie may have calculated C and t.

BEST PRINT's graph would start at $10 on the y axis (0,10)and be a straight line that goes to $26 above the 400 (400,26)

#C=2t# and #C=t+10# are the two equations so when we equate them

#=># #2t=t+10#

#=># #t=10#

Whe #t=10# that is #25xx10#=250 tickets

SP would cost#10xx$2=$20#

BP would cost # $10+(10xx$1)=$20#

If Susie is buying less than 250 tickets she should use Sure Print.
If she is buying more than 250 she should use Best Print and if she is buying exactly 250 tickets it would not matter who she uses.
