A cnidocyte is an explosive cell containing one giant secretory organelle.

Explanation:

Cnidocytes are also called stinging cells, and are used for prey capture and defense from predators. A cnidocyte fires a thread like structure that contains a toxin , which is usually a hypnotoxin.

A cnidocyte launches into action , when stimulated by external cues. These threads travel at high speeds and target the predator or prey, thus incapacitating them. The toxin paralyses the targeted tissue and produces severe pain, shock or at times may prove fatal to humans.
