Please help me on this too a) 9.80g of water vapor condenses on a soda can at 100.0°C. Given: latent heat of vaporization 2260 J/g latent heat of fusion 334 J/g (ii) Calculate the amount of energy transferred?

1 Answer

22.1 kJ

Explanation:

Heat lost by the water vapour is gained by the soda can.
It must be assumed that the water vapour is saturated.
When it condenses, it will release the latent energy of vapourisation.

Thus energy released by water vapour = #2260 J/g * 9.8 g = 22148 J or 22.1 kJ #

This energy is aborbed by the soda can.
