We know that the space around an object where the gravitational force #vecF_g# exerted by it can be experienced by any other object is known as the gravitational field of the object.
The strength per units mass of this gravitational field is called gravitational intensity #vecE_g#. Both are related as

#vecE_g=vecF_g/m#

Comparing with #vecf=mveca#, units of #vecE_g# are of those of accelration.

(Using equation for Universal Law of Gravitation we see that

#vecE_g=GM/R^2=g#
where #g# is acceleration due to gravity.)

SI units of acceleration are #ms^-2#
CGS units of acceleration are #cms^-2#
Ratio of SI units to CGS units #=(ms^-2)/(cms^-2)=10^2#
