Let #alpha=1+sqrt2i and beta=1-sqrt2i#

#gamma=alpha^3-3 alpha^2+5 alpha -2#

#=>gamma=alpha^3-3 alpha^2+3 alpha -1+2alpha-1#

#=>gamma=(alpha-1)^3+alpha-1+alpha#

#=>gamma=(sqrt2i)^3+sqrt2i+1+sqrt2i#
