They should support free trade when it is real free trade unlike what is promoted by WTO and trade deals like NAFTA. The latter introduce regulations that mostly protect corporations' interests and harm small businesses and workers. They do so by introducing regulations that only corporations can cope with and small businesses get squeezed out of business.

Free trade is part of part of economic freedom and it is thus guaranteed by the US Constitution nevertheless it does not mean defending global trade deals and supranational union.

Actual free trade means getting rid of a maximum number of regulations that only benefit corporations and also lower taxes in order to help small businesses.
