Length is 35 inches

Let the width be x inch.
so, length will be (x+15) inches.
The table is rectangular in shape. So, its area will be = (Length * width) sq. unit.
Hence as per question, (x+15)*x = 700
or, ${x}^{2} + 15 x = 700$
or, ${x}^{2} + 15 x - 700 = 0$
or, ${x}^{2} + \left(35 - 20\right) x - 700 = 0$
or, ${x}^{2} + 35 x - 20 x - 700 = 0$
or, $x \left(x + 35\right) - 20 \left(x + 35\right) = 0$
or,$\left(x + 35\right) \left(x - 20\right) = 0$
or, (x-20) = 0, (x+35)= 0
or, x = 20, x = -35
width cannot be negative. so, $x \ne - 35$
Hence x i.e. width = 20 inches and Length is (20+15) or 35 inches
