The Third Amendment of the United States was created as a direct response to the Quartering Act placed by Britain.

Explanation:

The Quartering Act placed on the colonists before the American Revolution stated that people had, or were required/forced, to house soldiers. The colonists were not that happy about it, though, so they created the 3rd Amendment, which stated that "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

Hope this helps!
