# Triangle A has sides of lengths 75 , 45 , and 66 . Triangle B is similar to triangle A and has a side of length 7 . What are the possible lengths of the other two sides of triangle B?

Feb 15, 2016

x = 7xx66/45 = 10.3 ; y = 7xx75/45 = 11.7
There are 2 more possibilities, I will leave it to you to calculate them will be good practice...

#### Explanation:

Given a triangle A, with sides 75, 45 and 66
Find all possibility of a triangle B with one side = 7
Relate the side 7 to 45 then what you from similar triangles is:
$7 : 45 = x : 66 = y : 75$
x = 7xx66/45 = 10.3 ; y = 7xx75/45 = 11.7
Note this one possibility, there 2 more possibility, why?
