It is true that the speed of a planet varies continuously during its orbit.

Explanation:

When in orbit a planet is moving at its fastest at perihelion and it is moving at its slowest at aphelion.

Take the Earth as an example. At perihelion, which is around 3 January, the Earth is moving at about #30.3 m##/s^2#. At aphelion, which is around 3 July it is moving at around #29.3m##/s^2#.

So all planets and moons travel at different speeds throughout their orbits.
