Two spheres having mass 10 gram and 25 gram are projecte horizontally from the same height with velocities V1 and V2 and they fall to the ground in time interval T1 and t2 respectively if the ratio of v1:V2 is 1:3 the ratio t1 is to T2 will be?

The ratio is #=1/1#

Explanation:

If the spheres are projected horizontally from the same height, the time of flight will be the same, whatever the velocities are.

The mass have no importance.

What will change is the horizontal distance travelled.

This is because the vertical component of the velocity is the same.

Therefore,

Applying the equation of motion

#s=ut+1/2at^2#

#h=0+1/2g t^2#

#t_1=sqrt((2h)/g)#

and

#t_2=sqrt((2h)/g)#

#t_1/t_2=1/1#

The horizontal distances are

#x_1=v_1*t_1#

and

#x_2=v_2*t^2#

Therefore,

#x_1/x_2=(v_1*t_1)/(v_2*t_2)=v_1/v_2=1/3#
