There are many adaptations that would be helpful.

Explanation:

Thicker fur or skin could help keep an animal species warm from the cold.
If the animal species are prey, lighter fur or skin would be beneficial in order to hide in the snow from predators.
A lower metabolic rate in order to sustain the animals in case of a lower supply of food.
Ability to actually swim and hunt in the Arctic conditions which is different from other environments.
Normal body temperature should lower. This keeps the animals from freezing to death.
