What are some sustainable development strategies we can use to manage forests as a renewable resource?
Never cut down a tree if it is young or mature but healthy.
Try to benefit from old trees that will probably die soon.
Do not clear cut a whole area since it accelerates erosion.
When you cut down a tree, do not harm other trees.
Add new trees (close to the original site) when you eliminate trees.
Remember that not all new trees will be mature, some will die sooner or later.
Plan your future carefully. After planting an area, do not let this area to be used in other (such as urban development, industrial zonation) projects.
These are some issues in sustainable forestry.
