What are the differences between red and white blood cells?

In terms of function:
Red blood cells carry oxygen around the body for respiration to take place while white blood cells defend the body from infections and viruses.

In terms of structure:
1. Red blood cell has a biconcave shape while white blood cell is irregularly shaped.
2. Red blood cell does not have a nucleus so as to transport more oxygen while white blood cell has a nucleus.
