Lithium and Beryllium

There is a thicker line on the right side of the periodic table and all elements touching that line are metalloids (except for aluminium, which is a metal. The metalloids are B, Si, Ge, As, Sb, Te, and Po. All elements left of the metalloids are metals and all elements right of the metalloids are nonmetals. The exception is hydrogen, which is a nonmetal. In period 2, the elements left of the metalloid, boron, are lithium and beryllium.
